About the carbon trust

The Carbon Trust is a not-for-profit company with the mission to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy. The trust provides specialist support to help business and the public sector cut carbon emissions, save energy and commercialise low carbon technologies.

More than 75% of all FTSE 100 companies, tens of thousands of small and medium sized businesses and over 2,500 public sector bodies have been advised since the trust’s inception in 2001. Many of the organisations involved including well known brands like ASDA, Marks and Spencer, British Sugar, John Lewis and DHL are current Triscan customers.

Triscan’s commitment to carbon reduction

Triscan, whose ethos of fuel Intelligence lies at the heart of its commitment to product innovation, demonstrated its energy reduction achievements to the Carbon Trust.  As a technology driven SME, Triscan reckons it can be a standard bearer for similar sector businesses to support their larger cousins in the pursuit of an end to end solution for practical, low carbon innovation.

Why does the Carbon Trust Matter?

Simon Hollingsworth, Triscan’s Managing Director comments “The Carbon Trust Standard can be a way to differentiate your company from competitors. It provides independent confirmation of your fleet carbon reduction achievements and if you want to cut your energy costs and green your business, you first need to be able to measure how much energy you’re using and where you’re using it. This is exactly what we explain to our own customers when explaining our own products; as they say – practice what you preach”.

According to the Carbon Trust, the UK is one of the world’s top breeding grounds for low carbon innovation – “We have home-grown businesses at the cutting edge of low carbon technology development, whilst organisations from all sectors are gaining competitive advantage by greening their strategies and investing in carbon reduction and new business opportunities”.

Simon Hollingsworth concluded by saying that “Triscan is extremely pleased to be accredited by the accepted UK standard and is in turn looking forward to helping participating clients with provision of fuel and fleet data that is so crucial to the Carbon Trust’s accreditation process”.
