Veolia Transport’s objectives and the reasons for investing in the holistic cost saving solution were simple: to more accurately account for how, when and where their largest asset next to payroll was being utilised, to more efficiently report on transactions taking place and to improve operational effectiveness.
The solution included a number of integrated elements that Triscan believed would overcome the challenges faced by Veolia Transport. Firstly, many organisations install a fuel management system which relies heavily on manual data entry. In many environments this is not always practical and incorrect data of up to 30% of entries is not uncommon.
Accurate data capture is vitally important if informed decisions are going to be made based on the information gathered at the point of fuelling. Furthermore, the absence of any automated data capture system increases the security issues surrounding the system.
Triscan used a holistic fuel management solution, including Automatic Vehicle Recognition system (Triscan AVR) which provides ‘Clean Data’ and overcomes the issue of manual fuelling errors, and Odyssey software which provides the accurate information gathered in an easy to use and configurable format.
Both of these elements helped to meet the brief, in turn delivering a payback on Veolia’s investment in just a few months”.
