TGM runs services around Heathrow and Gatwick airport involved with parking, private hire, airline crew and hotel collections. It also has additional coach and transport facets to cater for at sites including Newcastle, Harlesden and Colchester. A mixed fleet includes vehicles from Volvo, Dennis, DAF and Scania and single and double-decker coaches and buses co-exist on a fleet list with Mercedes and Ford MPVs.

To integrate reporting for multi-site, multi-vehicle operation including supplying clean data for BSOG, TGM needed a bespoke solution that would be scalable for future growth and a value for money solution. As part of the Arriva group, TGM is also tasked with reducing carbon emissions by 15% by 2012.

TGM embraced Triscan’s Source To Exhaust™ solution. To complement the existing Triscan fuel island controllers at each site, Triscan Kisskey was installed on the whole fleet of 191 vehicles, 12 of which were brand new acquisitions for the Gatwick depot. Each fuelling operation is now independently controlled on a daily basis and the system installed consisted of a fuel pump, tank gauging and Odyssey web fuel management software.

This resulted in a networked fuel monitoring solution, which allowed local flexibility and strategic control to be applied to fuelling operations; Reporting requirements are interpreted and set up to assist with accounting, legislative and environmental requirements; Day-to-day operations benefit from efficient fuelling processes at the fuel island; The management team saves time and has increased confidence through accurate and seamless data capture reported into one software system; Software functionality can be updated at a later date as new modules become available; Single supplier provides a ‘Source to Exhaust’ product and service delivery ensuring software and hardware is compatible and scalable.

TGM spends more than £4.2million on fuel and yet the fuel management system upgrade cost less than 1% of this figure.
