Wessex Water Services Limited, known as Wessex Water, is a water supply and sewerage utility company serving an area of South West England, covering 10,000 square kilometres including Bristol, most of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Hampshire.
With a fleet of 114 vehicles using 5 regional fuel islands from jetvacs and vans to artic tankers, Wessex Water uses approximately one million litres of fuel every year. Historically Wessex Water has used fuel islands from Triscan as a basis for access and control and to run basic reporting.
As fuel prices increased, it became clear that Wessex Water needed to manage their fuel usage more closely. Triscan came in to discuss an upgraded package implementing Odyssey software as a means of control. With web-based, real-time capabilities, Odyssey WorldTM provides the user with central visibility of their entire estate’s fuel usage and stocks. Data is presented in a series of dashboards, offering a history of vehicle information and odometer readings for an entire fleet. Numerous concurrent users can be nominated and authorised access. Software allows detailed reporting of usage, stock, performance and trends.
“Triscan offered a very competitive price with a robust system and back up. We now have a better understanding of our fuel status within the company, have set up internal departmental re-charging and run a monthly reporting system for accounting. We monitor fuel usage for departmental vehicles, their mpg and suppliers’ prices. Triscan’s Odyssey software has helped us considerably in managing and understanding our fuel systems.”
