Dales Group is a new and used car dealer in Cornwall operating main dealership franchises for Renault, Dacia, SEAT, Suzuki and Vauxhall. The group was established in 1959 and has been selling and servicing cars in Cornwall for over 60 years.

After being a DataTrack customer for over 11 years, Dales Group decided to upgrade their hardware system and add a second fuel pump to extend their existing fuel island. Due to using a different supplier to source the tank, it was essential that communication and project management was clear throughout the entire installation process. At The Triscan Group we pride ourselves on being able to provide a turnkey solution, however in some instances, customers find they only need certain parts of a service or installation completing, and we will always work with third-party suppliers and the customer to ensure a successful and quick install is completed. In this instance, the petrol tank was installed by Mitchell and Webber. Together, the project management team ensured that all electrics were in place and signed off before delivery. Alongside this, the installation date was coordinated with the site to ensure the install could take place quickly before any petrol was delivered into the tank.

All of The Triscan Group engineers are fully trained (PIA, Compex, ATEX, DSEAR) and are provided with the appropriate PPE, as health and safety are paramount when working with petrol, due to its explosive nature. Our team supplied and installed a Pumptronics EX C Series Commercial ATEX approved petrol pump which was connected to the petrol tank on site. Manufactured to EN13617-1, this stainless steel construction and +/- 0.2% accuracy makes the C Series a robust and reliable option for any fuel island. With a 45 LPM dispensing speed and a discreet break coupling to avoid any accidental ‘fuel and drive-offs’ this pump was the ideal option for the Dales Group.

The addition of an extra pump on-site meant an upgrade was needed to the existing DataTrack fuel management system from FuelSafe1 to a FuelSafe2 enabling the hardware to link to the pump and monitor the fuel. Alongside this, our team ensured Supervisor V5 reconfiguration was carried out so that the operator could continue to use the software.

Our team extended the existing pipework to ensure it ran from the new tank location to the new pumping location. In this instance, no PRV’s were required due to it being a low profile tank.

Alongside this installation, a further FuelSafe1 was installed for the Dales Groups new Vauxhall site.

The entire installation is protected by a 12 months warranty as standard.
