Brakes (previously known as ‘Brake Bros Ltd’) is a food and distribution company supplying food, drink and other products mainly to the catering industry in the UK through more than 20 distribution centres. It provides delivered wholesale and contract logistical services.
Brakes have been a Timeplan fuel solutions customer for over 16 years. When the motor in their existing diesel LT sprint pump failed, they made the decision to install a new twin pump.
As the original pump had integrated Timeplan fuel management, the new installation included adding and commissioning a replacement Timeplan Sigma750 fuel management system. Sigma750 fuel management allows for 24-hour unmanned fuelling. The alphanumeric keypad facilitates optional fleet code entries. Together with Timeplan’s web-based Fuel Manager portal, the system works seamlessly to record and report all fuelling activity.
The replacement twin pump was a Pumptronics Zeon running at 50 LPM and 70 LPM. ¾” breakaways and pigtails were supplied to reduce any damage that could be caused by potential ‘drive-offs’. The pipework and PRV installation were carried out at the same time meaning Brakes only needed one point of contact throughout the entire fuel management installation project.
Health and safety are paramount to The Triscan Group so all customers are provided with full RAMS and in this case, the customer was provided with Safe Contractor certification to meet their own health and safety requirements.
