Bedfords decided to upgrade its management information provision to participate in the DfT online benchmarking system. Using Triscan’s latest Odyssey software developments, Bedfords can effortlessly and anonymously submit data via the DfT online system. Developed specifically to support government CO2 reduction initiatives, Triscan’s Odyssey Web automatically exports vehicle and fuel transaction information into the DfT online benchmarking tool. This includes registration number, fuel type, ODO units (miles/kilometres), depot ID, fuel volume and transaction ensuring accuracy of data.
Bedfords has so far reduced MPG by over 14%. Bedfords’ dedicated environment committee can now benchmark the company’s emissions and fuel usage against results submitted by other members. This enables them to set and monitor appropriate cost and carbon reduction targets.
