Triscan’s Apollo 2 Fuel Management Systems will monitor both Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and diesel. This is the latest development in Asda’s transport sustainability strategy, following its commitment to deliver a 10 per cent absolute carbon footprint reduction by 2015, which includes a target to reduce emissions from its transport fleet by 60 per cent (between 2005 and 2015).
Working in partnership with BOC, the UK’s largest supplier of compressed and liquefied gases, Asda has built the LNG refuelling station to minimise environmental impact and costs. The station uses ‘zero loss’ refuelling technology to ‘temperature-condition’ fuel just prior to dispensing. The new depot also features a range of carbon and energy efficiency initiatives, including rainwater harvesting, combined heat and power, and occupier lighting.
Alongside this initiative, Asda has also invested in Triscan’s Automatic Mileage Capture Device, KisskeyOBD™, to ensure that the refuelling process is simple, quick and exceptionally accurate.
